UWB Baseball Pitching Training & Analytics System
Application Scopes
-
Pitch & Velocity Basics Measurement
1.Pitch Type Recognition: Fastball, slider, changeup, splitter, curveball, etc.
2.Pitch Velocity: Measured in km/h or mph, typically based on release speed at the point of maximum velocity.
3.Arm Angle (AMR Angle): Pitcher’s arm slot at release, e.g., overhand, sidearm, or low three-quarter. -
Trajectory & Position Tracking
1.Release Point Coordinates (X, Y, Z): Exact position where the pitcher releases the ball.
2.Plate Location: Ball’s position crossing home plate (inside or outside the strike zone).
3.Trajectory: Actual flight path of the pitch.
4.Horizontal Break: Side-to-side movement of the pitch.
5.Vertical Break: Up-and-down deviation of the pitch (gravity-adjusted). -
Spin & Break Analytics
1.Spin Rate (rpm): Higher spin rates generate stronger pitch movement.
2.Spin Axis: Direction of ball rotation, expressed as clock-face positions.
3.Spin Efficiency: Ratio of effective spin to total spin, determining pitch movement potential.
4.Spin Direction: Vector describing the exact orientation of spin.
5.Induced Vertical Break (IVB): Gravity-neutral vertical movement of the pitch.
